On February 14, 2011, Dr. Danilo Türk, President of the Republic of Slovenia, conferred the Order for Merits on the Federation of Disabled Workers of Slovenia for its successful accomplishments in the field of disabled persons protection during more than forty years of work.
FIMITIC and the Federation of Disabled Workers of Slovenia ZDIS held events from 17 to 19 September in Spa Topolšica in Slovenia. The international conference the venue and the technical conditions were organized by the ZDIS. To get information on disability issues is not possible only trough questionaires from the members but also from the internet.
The Federation of Disabled Workers of Slovenia is developing the project "Disabled-Friendly Municipality" in accordance with its status of a representative disabled people’s organization in Slovenia, its mission, goals and tasks as well as in accordance with international documents, especially in the spirit of Agenda 22, with the purpose of further encouraging local communities –
Human rights are by all means a constitutional category in the Republic of Slovenia. In the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia (Official Journal of RS, No. 33/1991) Article 14 of Chapter 2 (Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms) lays down that to everyone are ensured equal human rights and fundamental freedoms.
During the closing Event of the EYPD 2003 in Rome the Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, Dr. Vladimir Dimovski has in the Plenary session presented "AjdovššÄina – city friendly for people with disabilities" as a project developed by Federation of Disabled Workers of Slovenia during the European Year 2003.

Feletto Umberto, May 17th 2003. There was a meeting of disabled persons of Alpe Adria region in Udine. Participants were representatives from disabled organizations from Carinthia (Austria), Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy), HSUTI(Croatia) and Slovenia. The subject of the meeting was "Europe: the Legislations which Rule Disability".

Mr. Bengt Lindqvist, UN Special Rapporteur on Disability, Former M.P. and Cabinet Minister, Sweden was visited Slovenia in November as a guest of the Slovenian Government.
